Narcotic Empires (Parts I & II)

I’ve here recorded a lecture which was written a few years ago during my undergraduate years: a period of personal obsession with both the Ottoman Empire and the history of Opium.  Part one gives a general overview, historically-speaking, of the state of affairs in Ottoman Turkey following the reign of Suleiman the Great.  Please enjoy the lecture and stay tuned for part two.
